Re: Kiki's thread
Thanks Cypher! I do have to watch her though. I let her eat as she pleases for 3 days and she went from 59g to 65g haha. Guess her love for food is just too strong!
Visual it's a living world salon. It goes by a lot of names to just check for the salon. Living world makes some nice stuff!
It is made of polyresin though so you should be careful that it's not chewed. On top of that it comes with a small brush inside that you should take out. It's there so your hamster can 'groom itself in the salon'. Because surely that is just what the hamster will do with a brush in its cage...

Re: Kiki's thread
Want the salon myself tbh. The idea of any ham seeing a brush in a hideaway and actually using it as a brush is completely hilarious. Who thinks of these things???
I also wanna see fat roly poly kiki. How unfortunate we.. sorry, SHE, can't be both fat and healthy

I have no clue, my first thought was 'how many kids bought the whole set (toilet, salon, home, Cafe and restaurant) and were disappointed that the hamster didn't use them as "intended'' '
And trust me, both of us wish she could be fat and healthy. She isn't the most active ham ever, but she sure is food driven like no other ham I have ever seen!
It took her around a month to lose 13g. - and around 3 days without me limiting the food I gave her to gain back 6g. I weighed her with empty pouches. Surely I won't know if she just ate when I did weigh her but woah she gained that fast.

Re: Kiki's thread
Since I'm visiting my boyfriend in Amsterdam I have now left my hams at my mum's place.
I have been home for 3 hours since bringing them and I have only walked to where their cages are supposed to be 7 times this far.
God I miss them! It will be an interesting 11 days with no hams! Hopefully I can keep myself from asking more than once a day how they are doing :q

Oh I doubt that somehow!
At least you know they're in good hands, I'm sure you must miss them so much, I can't imagine not having hams around any more lol! but just try to have a good time & you'll be back with them again before you know it!

Re: Kiki's thread
It's the oddest thing ever to not have them around! I will enjoy my holiday but I just love taking care of them and making sure that they are okay and happy!

Re: Kiki's thread
I'm really enjoying updates about Kiki, she is such a character. I used to have a hamster who was also very vocal about what she liked and didn't like!

Re: Kiki's thread
Thank you!
She is funny in that way indeed! It completely melts my heart haha
On the update site, after being grumpy for a few days due to the minivacation she had at my mum's, she is finally out and about again.
She is very eager to sit on my hand, but whatever treat I present her isnt good enough! So she get's impatient as she knows that sitting on my hand means getting a highly valued treat - but she recently changed her mind on what she liked and what she didnt!
I gave her a treatstick due to her weight dropping for some reason. And sure she is healthy enough, just picky! When she has picked out her favourite things from her bowl she will wait for me to fill it and only munch on her snack stick haha
Even better, after the treatment for mites and well as getting back on a healthy weight, she no longer has bald spots on her belly.
Yesterday I heard an odd noise coming from her cage, so I went to check up on her after finishing up on doing the dishes. She has this hanging coconut house with a bridge in front so she can easily get in and out. She had somehow spun the coconut around so that the opening was pretty far from the bridge. Not that that would stop her though! When I had a look she was sitting very happy and proud in her coconut. How she managed to get up there I still don't know.
I will post a picture once I'm home

Re: Kiki's thread
I put some scented tissue (that I have had in my sleeve) in Kiki's cage today just because. To my surprise she rushed to it, stuffed her pouches with all she could carry to the point where it didn't even fit in her mouth, took a piece of bedding too and rushed off to her nest. This is by far the cutest thing I have seen in a long time haha
