A question about hybrids

Are hybrid hamsters like Mules and Ligers? Can they only be bred by mixing two species together and not with each other? Are they infertile? I don't know much about dwarf hamsters as only really had Syrians

Hybrids have been created by cross breeding ww with campbells & then breeding the resulting hybrids.
Put simply as far as I understand things you could theoretically breed any Russians, hybrids, winter whites or Campbells together but breeding anything except pure bred WW or Campbells can lead to all sorts of problems, health problems, problems for the mothers when giving birth or congenital defects in the babies.

A lot of Russian hybrids can breed which makes them different from some other hybrid species, but, as some of them also can't breed, they are known as a hybrid rather than be their own species.
