I am getting my hamster in March, so I have plenty of time to prepare. I have begun getting the supplies I need although I still have some things to buy. Do any of you have any tips on things that dwarf hamsters like!

Wow! I like how organised you are in preparing for your ham in March!

They can be really easy to please & love the simple things like toilet roll tubes & egg boxes are a big favourite so you might want to start making a stash of those to use!
Make sure you have the right size wheel for them, a 6.5" silent spinner or medium flying saucer is good for them or you could go for a wooden wheel but then you need an 8".
You can buy all sorts of chew toys but I find a lot of them get totally ignored so maybe get them some antos dog chews which they'll love!
Other than that it depends how much space you have in the cage, do you have space to hang anything?
maybe show us a photo of your set up with what you already have & we may be able to make some more suggestions.

You're actually better off using the kitchen roll tubes as they're longer and there's a thread about toilet rolls and it will make you think twice about using them.

I can hang stuff from the bars of the cage on the side, but I do not have bars on the top (which is a bit annoying!)
Also I have not yet put everything in the cage as I do not want the bedding to get horrible.
I am going to buy a 6.5 inch silent spinner and I have a 7.5 inch flying saucer.

I did see some of the dog chews in a shop - but the shop did not specify if they were vegetable based or meat. I guess I will order them.

I did buy some chews just so they are there in case the hamster wants to chew them, but I also have plenty of wooden toys!

Thanks for the info!
