Bridget's story....
After visiting my parent's local P@H a few times, I decided I wanted to give a home to a hammy from their adoption centre. I was torn between a Robo and a WW hybrid but didn't have time to pop back during my last visit.
A few days later I was browsing Gumtree for hamster stuff and came across an advert asking £25 for a Winter White dwarf with 2 cages, I saw the photo of the hammy and thought he/she looked really sweet but ultimately decided I should wait a little longer till I could return to P@H.
About 2 weeks later I was looking on Gumtree again and happened across the same advert but noticed the price had changed to £0, I checked the description and discovered hammy's owner wanted him/her re-homed ASAP (free to good home). Normally I wouldnt have scrolled down that far to view the older ads so I contacted the owner and arranged to pick up today (I asked if I could just have hammy without cages as I had my own enclosure).
Her name is Bridget
I decided to keep her name as it seems to suit her.
Bridget is presumably from a pet shop so we will assume she is a Winter White hybrid.
She is around 4 months old and has a really sweet/laid back personality. Bridget was handled regularly so is not afraid of people or being picked up/handled at all. My partner and I both handled her before putting her in her new home and she was so relaxed; Ive never seen such a chilled hammy after a move like this. I look a video of her first steps in her new home:

At the moment she is living in a Ferplast Duna Mini, I intend to upgrade her to a Duna Multy (large) as soon as I can (at least by mid October). The Duna Mini is bigger than the barred cage/connecting Rotastak cage she was originally homed in with her previous owner - so is a good starting cage, it will also give her a chance to settle in the new environment without being overwhelmed.
Since this morning I have replaced that small comfort wheel with regular 6.5 inch silent spinner. The plastic food/water bowls have also been replaced with shallower ceramic ones (the plastic ones were a little tall for her). Here is the updated set up for now....
