Default Nails too long?

I recently adopted a WW hybrid (photos/separate post to come later) and noticed when she runs in her silent spinner that her nails make a loud clippy sound; my partner and I also have a Syrian and a Chinese hamster but neither of them make this sound as they run (the Chinese has the same type of wheel).

Does this mean her nails are too long? Or maybe dwarf hammies have a particular way of walking which means their feet are flatter on the ground as they run? I didn't notice anything obvious when I picked her up - Ive added a sand bath and a wooden bendy bridge for her to climb up. If her nails are a bit long Im hoping this may help wear them down a little.

Well what I do with mine is I have a tube and I've lined it with sand paper and when they come out on a night I let them run through it a couple of times to help file their nails and keep them a bit shorter, I only let them run through the tube when they're out because apparently the sand paper is bad for their feet you could try doing something like this though if you're worried about it, or you can take them to the vets and they'll trim them if you don't feel comfortable

Thanks guys I've noticed the clippy sound has reduced a bit now (24 hours later). I'm guessing she is using her wheel a lot more now and has stuff to climb on, so it's helping. Will keep an eye on it though and check her nails again when I take her out later.

Wow... 48 hours later and there is NO clipping sound. Im guessing she didnt run as quick/often in her previous home (she may of had a much smaller wheel?) so she has already worn down those nails to a healthy length. I did notice that when she first started using her wheel that she wouldn't get anywhere near as fast as she does now; her little legs are a blur!
