Re: Is she for eats
Lol Cypher - he was like I can pierce that ear for you...
I don't know if it was poo - Skeever's, " you depouch right now and show me what you're eating," didn't seem to impress him. Can hamsters say 'pfft'
Btw it sort of hit me last night as three hamsters were out and about, climbing and playing that I might have bitten off more than I can chew... How do people keep 7 or 8 happy??
I'm very glad I didn't come home with more.
Very happy with these guys though

Re: Is she for eats
Max is currently sprawled out in the substrate after eating oatmeal bread and running in the ball. He's awake a lot in the daytime. Is that a dwarf thing?

lol! I gave him some breakfast quick just in case!
My first two dwarfs were always up a lot during the day, Flynt never is but so far Mickle has been quite a lot so I guess it is a bit of a dwarf thing.

Re: Is she for eats
I still want to squeeze him right around the tummy. Just two fingers...nothing alarming
He's so active compared to the Syrians. I named the new Syrian Spartacus and my kids have started calling him the black one in protest. My son just informed me that I've been overruled and his name is Zeus. War of the names

Re: Is she for eats
Younger hams, even Syrians, tend to wake when they want and play off and on a bit more than the mature....(pronounced the British way) hams. Mature! Hams? Hahahahahahaha......
I'm now picturing you trying to squeeze the hammy and he gives you a withering look and says: You're trying to seduce me, Mrs. Robinson. (Pause) Aren't you?
If three hams is too much, then, well, I really have to 'question your dedication to Sparkle Vision"

Re: Is she for eats
Skeever, (did you know autocorrect thinks your name should be sleeves) it's a delight to see how well you can amuse yourself in your maturity, hams notwithstanding.
I'm pretty sure he's already suspicious of my motives, even at my extreme age. It's just a look like I know what you're doing with the music and the refilling my water bottle and the telling me all about your day and your husband isn't even home.
My dedication to my immature hams is strong lol it was just an uh oh moment, sparkles.

Re: Is she for eats
Love this thread.
My dwarf hybrid never bit me except for the very first time i held her and it was like she was saying "you are mine to bite" and she never did for the rest of her life.
Now my Robo dwarf bit me almost everynight, i used to hand feed her until the nightly bite.
Then she got so bad i got rather nervous when it came to feeding time.
In the end she got scatter fed, for my safety rather than hers, as its not fun having a angry robo hanging off your hand.

'you are mine to bite' I love it! I just keep telling him 'people are friends, not food' Finding Nemo style. So far no angry hams hanging off my hand - I'm afraid of how I'd react to that. Screaming through the house 'get it off, get it off' would probably be wrong. right?
He's ignoring his brand new chew blocks from Amazon but loves the sand bath. I have to find a new set up for the cages because he's kicking his sand down into Zeus's (working name for the black Syrian) cage. Poor Zeus can't quite figure out what's going on.
"what's this stuff raining down on me... let's inspect... is it delish...blah! sand. yuck - why is the spazzy one throwing sand at me... I can't figure this place out, I'm going back to my nest BEHIND that monstrosity the giant hoverer keeps calling my house."

LOLOLOLOL. My face hurts from laughing so much. You cannot squeeze the hammie...not even with 2 fingers. He will bite you if you do that. I cracked up over the "...get it off...get it off" bit. It will become a self fulfilling prophecy if you squeeze him.

LOL "the spazzy one", I love it
Can you maybe just put a piece of cardboard, plexiglass, or Coroplast on that side of the cage?
