Smile Lilly

Please meet Lilly!

Lilly had lost her cage mate and began to act different, including biting the owner's children, so she contcted me for help in homing her. Lilly was originally a he but I feel he is a she as I see no male bits, the name is just from the fact we have lillies in the living room and my mum thought it was a nice name.
She has a mini duna although only had a tube and childs plactic ladder toy so I have given her more cardboard, a little wooden climbing thing, wheel and sand bath, she has already perked up! Mini duna wheels are rubbish anyway so it didn't help her.
She seems very sweet so far, I have left her to settle but she made no attempt to bit me when putting things in her cage and has happily had a nibble of food and drimk already.

I will keep updating this thread as she settles

Lilly is a cutie. Sounds like you've already had a good effect on her behaviour. Do you know how long it is since she lost her cage mate?

Do you think maybe the children just poorly handled her? She's pretty!

Lilly is a cute little fluff. Glad you rescued her and she'll have a forever home. My little Harvey was the same. Biting his 3 yr old owner. Poor boy was rough handled from day 1. He hasn't bit me once. Sweet little boy. Just shows how sometimes children and hamsters don't always get along. She's be much happier now.

Thank you everyone, I am sure Lilly appreciates the comments
She has settled in lovely, seems very out going and not afraid of me.
I am not sure how long it was since she lost her cage mate, if they were told she was a he, which I believe is wrong, I am b3tting they were lucky to not have a male with her. I also do not know what the other mate died of as it was a very quick hand over, luckily she is well.
