Default Smudge's Hammy Happenings (pic heavy)

This is Smudge! She is a dwarf, but I don't know exactly what kind. There is a lot a I don't know about her, but that doesn't change how much I love this little girl!!!!

She was rescued by the Tampa Bay SPCA, from a home that was completely unfit for her, but that was her past. It's only her future that is important now! Her story with our family began last Tuesday, 1/29/13. I found her picture on the SPCA website a few days before I brought her home to live with me. The minute I saw her, I just knew she couldn't stay there any longer!

This is the picture I saw online. She looked so very sad this day

Then I went to visit her on the 29th. She was quite interested and couldn't sit still. I absolutely loved her coloring!!!!

I have her a bigger house than what she had at the SPCA and lots of nice, new toys to play with

She LOVES her wheel...she's never had one!!!

She's still quite a bit shy!!! I am slowly working on taming.

I felt like she deserved a better home, so I made her a bin cage....pink, for a pretty girl!! I know it is small, but it is bigger than anything she's had before and I have plans to upgrade her eventually.

HAPPY HAPPY, JOY JOY...my little girl let me touch her for the first time today!!! Granted, I bribed her with a little broccoli, but I consider it progress! lol

So, it turns out that my new little Smudge is more tame than I originally thought. She is still a little wary of my hands yet, but IF she is out of her cage, than I can pick her up and handle her. now, the only time she is feisty is when I stick my hand in her cage. She gives me a little warning nip that says, "Hey chica...this is my space!!" I am really enjoying getting to know her...she is so much fun!!!

I really am a pocket pet:

I have finally decided that mommy is o.k. and I will let her hold me now for cuddles

Playtime in the bathtub I absolutely adore this time that she and I share together. she crawls all over me and other than a little "taste" now & then on my ankle, she is SO tame! She's getting better...not as much cage rage now that she is in her new IKEA hack cage. I love this little girl to no end <3

Her new cage:

I'm working on getting some video of my little, sweet, Smudge. But for now, here are a few pics of her climbing all over mommy during her out of cage time (which she practically begs for when I get home each day)

For the 1st time I am worried about my little Smudge! I came home today and found that she was bleeding from her vaginal area . I cleaned it off with a cotton ball and saline and a little, tiny, bit of skin came off onto the cotton ball too. Her behavior is normal and activity level is normal. She is eating, drinking, and peeing & pooing normally with no blood in it. I'm hoping that she may have just bitten herself while cleaning or itching herself

Today, Smudge seems to be doing better. There has been no more instances with blood since yesterday and I am pretty sure she bit herself while cleaning. Rest assured, I have found an exotics vet (that comes highly recommended by a local pet store I love) and we are going to see them for a check up.

Tonight my little sweet fuzzy was acting normal and loving her playtime in the play pen. Here are a few videos of my crazy little fuzz! Clicky below on the videos!

Waking up:

AHHHHH....look what mommy made me!!!!

LOL, giggle . I downloaded the video, so I now have Smudgie's treat craze permanently. Something about her just grabs my heart. She really loved the treat and I had fun watching her. <3 Smudge
