Question Angel wont stop running! :S

My Russian dwarf Angel is blind in 1 eye. She ALWAYS runs on her wheel , and goes sooo fast!
My mom said shes probably going to die young because she runs so much
Can some one help me, Why does she not stop running on her wheel ?
Thanks

My girls run ALL the time!!!! The hams wouldn't do anything that would hurt themselves, just as we humans wouldn't keep running if we knew it was too much for us. I heard somewhere (don't quote me on this) that hams on average have to run about 3 miles a day. I think Angel will be fine. It just means she is healthy and active, which is always what ham parents and vets like to see

As long as she's sleeping during the day, and eating/drinking fine, you should have nothing to worry about I'd put her wheel back for sure! She may get pretty upset at you lol. I think you're only supposed to remove the wheel when a ham is injured, pregnant (or with small babies), or too old.

this can sometimes be a nervous thing iv found my hamsters usually do this when i first bring them home from the pet shop, maybe with her been blind shes more nervous than most hamsters would be, just leave her in a quiet room and close the curtains and go in every so often and talk to her quietly and calmy see if you notice her running on it less
