Well ive persuaded my mum and im buying the cambridge today !

Im so happy and im looking forward to it but help !

What are the pros and cons for this cage

is it worth 38:99

Will i never need to buy a new cage when hes fully grown ?

How hard is it to put in the shelfs how long does it take ?

Well done!

the shelfs really annoy me, they sometimes rattle when your hammy is on them and the are a pain in the bum to take out so i just clean them from inside the cage as its loads easier!

it is a big cage so it will last him for all his life, i dont know about bar chewing its all down to the hamster...

Box is really big, cardboard.
Shelves are a little tricky and it took me about 15min first time. Now i keep them in all the time and just wipe them, instead of taking them out. Saves bunch of time. Just be patient with the shelves and it will pay off.
There is no guarantee for bar chewing unfortunately, but he really might stop since the cage is HUGE.
Good luck! I have a Cambridge and i love it!

I just got 2 cambridge from ebay. I am very very impressed and the size for a wire cage is great as you can hang things and great for bar climbers.

The shelves are a bit annoying but i only have one in bears cage and have bought a bridge and hammock for the other side. Means if you have any high or tall toys can use it. The shape of the shelves does limit what you can put on it but the ladders are long and if u only use one shelf the long ladder is suffice.

The bars are verticle which does limit the things you can attach tho the side if you have hooks and the rounded edges creates this issure as well.

But as wofunny said u can clean shelves inside..be gentle when removing them;. The cambridge i just colected has 2 metal bars been put on as the clips have broken so if they break can be fixed.

Nice size cage- Bear is a big boy and it fits him well. COuld extend it with a ferplast extender (just got one from my pet store £1.99) .

I would say try find one on ebay but if not then yes it is worth it and would use it for life.

Hope i helped xxx

I echoe the others, when I first got the cage I took the shelves out to do a full through clean and disinfect and learnt how irritating they can be. Now I just keep them in while washing and save the hassle
£38.99 is a good price for the cage your getting and it should last a hammy throughout it's life.
Easy to extend if you wish using the ferplast tube stoppers like Amethyst said, to another wire cage or bin cage.
Pros - can hang loads of toys, deep base for bedding, easy to clean
Cons - domed roof so it can't be stacked, shelves, small doors for getting the hamster out( your better off lifting the whole wire top off when your first taming a ham)
