Re: My Finished Bin Cage!
ah my bad, that makes more sense reading it back
I know in germany you like to have deep bedding, but i suppose it depends on the hamster. Some just won't bother digging at all, so its a waste of bedding really and will cost you more than it needs to.
But if they like digging then its a good idea to do a good layer of bedding for them

Re: My Finished Bin Cage!
That's right, it depends on the hamster, but I would say, you always should give it a try. My hamster Pringles didn't dig when he has only 5 cm of bedding. Then in the new cage with 25 cm bedding he starts digging after a week. Also a few members of the "hamsterboard" made an experiment with the bedding-high and hamsters who seems not to dig. All of these starts digging with more bedding xD Wait, it's in german but i post it:

Oh and I found this, you have to scroll down, there is an english article:

Re: My Finished Bin Cage!

Re: My Finished Bin Cage!
I know it's quite hard to find such cages with high bases ;0; You're welcome! Tell me if it works, maybe it does, maybe not xD
(Sorry for offtopic: By the way, does anyone knows how high the base of the duna maxi is?)

Re: My Finished Bin Cage!
Hehe, i found this 'bin tank'. Made out of the same tub for Smokeys bin. I thought it was quite cool

Re: My Finished Bin Cage!
That's really creative, I'd never look at a storage tub and think...that could be a cage or tank. Only found out about bin cages when I joined here tbh.
