Default Oh can't decide!

ive made so many different threads but i still can't decide which cage to get so i would like everyones opinions. I'l list the ones im considering but feel free to add any other suggestions
  • Hamster heaven
  • criceti 15
  • zoozone large
  • There are more but i can't remember the names right now lol :P

Oh its for a syrian hamster, he's not too big, he's a bit chubby and weighs 160g, my rooms quite cold so i dont think ventilation should be a problem

Is the Duna Multy one of your options?

out of the 3 you mention the zoozone has the most room. But the other two have more climbing oppertunity. But if your room is drafty it'll be better to go for a plastic tank style like the ZZ and Duna multy.
If I was you I'd look on eBay and see which pops up For a good price and near you.

well i do like the space the zoozone gives, but i also like the climbing opportunities and the tube holes that the criceti gives (lol i sound like harry hill :P )

Im not sure if the draughts should be a problem cause ive got a bar cage at the moment and if its quite cold i just give him extra bedding Lol theres never any cages for pick-up near me, i live in quite a remote town, but the zoozone large is the cheapest on ebay

I have 3 Criceti 15's and one Hamster Heaven. I had a Duna Multy but disliked it so much that I returned it after 2 days.

Criceti 15 Pros - opens at the top, VERY easy to clean. Lid can be opened with one hand (ideal for when you want to put hammy back home and are holding him in one hand). Plenty of space. Bars that you can attach lots of toys to. Airy and cool for summer. Very flexible in terms of how you can set up the cage - level can be moved around anywhere and the cage is a perfect size to fit on a wire shelving unit.
Cons: tube openings not good for those with limited space, as add-ons must go side to side rather than top to bottom.

Hamster Heaven Pros - cage opens outward from the front, so cage can sit on a shelf and still be opened. Tons of space! Fun tubes and a house on top. comes with loads of accessories that are all very useful and fun. Compatible with Ferplast tube systems.
Cons: tubes take a long time to clean and are fiddly to put together the first few times. My hamster tends to potty in the sky house so i have to take it apart and clean it every 2nd day. Front opening door takes two hands to open, so you cannot open it with one hand if you need to.

Duna Multy - good for hams who chew bars and whose owners can't stand it - although if they can reach the top of the cage they'll still chew the lid bars. Adequate space for a syrian but a bit small for my personal preference. Easy to clean.
Cons: I realize I am probably the only person on here who hates this cage, so bear that in mind. I found that the top was difficult to put on because it has to settle into 'grooves' and i would be messing with it for ages each time i had to take the lid off/put it on. I found it to be smaller than i prefer because it's shorter than, say, a Criceti 15 even though the bottom floor space is similar. It's only one level and you can't attach toys to it that you normally can to a wire cage. The only thing I can say about it is that it's cheap-ish in terms of price and would be good for a chronic bar chewing ham if you've got nothing bigger.

Based on what you've said about your ham I think a Criceti 15 is perfect. I have found it to be the best all around bar cage. The Hamster Heaven is great too but it's higher maintenance due to the tubes for cleaning.

yeah i the criceti is my current favourite (but it'l probably change by tomorrow lol) and its a lot cheaper than the HH which is good Do you know any shops that stock it or would i have to order it online? I saw it was cheapest on equinecaninefeline and i like the fact they sell replacement shelves and ladders (in red as well as grey )

I suggest you buy Ferplast Criceti 15. It's huge and very spacious
I don't own one but I would definitely buy it If I lived in UK.

I currently have the HH cage It's very spacious and provides space for hanging toys but also comes with many acessories and a shelf. I paid about £80 for it from PAH and I think it is rather expensive but my ham loves it so it's worth the money. She loves climbing the bars and going through the tubes to sit in the hideout on top. If you can afford it, it is a great cage!
