Default Maybe getting a Duna Multy for Brownie!

As far as I have been able to discover, the Duna products that all you knowledgeable people rave about aren't available here in Canada. Last month I spotted what I thought was a Duna Multy on a local classifieds site and wrote to the seller but never got a response. I just tried again and this time I did! I checked with Ferplast's website and the dimensions seem to be exactly that of the Multy so I'm really excited! Especially since I've begun to have problems with the Habitrail setup Brownie's currently in. Even though she was terribly overweight when I got her and she's slimmed down, it appears that hamsters aren't finished growing at 3 months and I've noticed she's got a tighter squeeze getting through her tubes. There have been access problems for me as well and it's becoming a safety issue for Brownie.

I'm mildly concerned about the bar spacing on the top but I'm fairly handy and I shouldn't have any problem adding wire to it if need be. I tried searching for details but can anyone tell me what the minimum bar spacing is for a Syrian?

The bar spacing on the multy is around 0.7cm - fine for a syrian. Larger syrians you can get away with around 1/2 inch spacing.

Thank-you, I.N! From the picture provided with the ad I'm guessing the the bar spacing is actually a bit more than 1/2" but I won't know for sure until I go see it a few hours from now. I will certainly update you on what I find

Now I just have to figure out how to attach a water bottle!

Ahh - it might be one of the older dunas, its only in the last few months they've made it the "duna multy" and put small rodent sized bars on it. There is a water bottle hole in the side, a syrian should have no problems reaching up!

Awesome! I'm going to ask the guy where he got it because like I said, I have not been able to find these anywhere in Canada, in stores or online! If I get it though the bf says I have to abandon my great fish tank modification project to free up some space

OK! My new cage is home and my first impression of it was, wow, that is HUGE! I was reluctant to abandon my tank project but when I saw the Duna it was love at first sight At least I think it's a Duna; it's the right size but it doesn't have a name on it anywhere.

The bar spacing is actually 3/4" so I'm going to have to add some wire to it. Do you think it's better/easier to use wire mesh or single pieces of wire attached between the existing bars?

I got it for $25CDN and it came with 2 ceramic feeding dishes, a corner potty and a wheel with a stand. Given Brownie's size already though and the fact that she's fine with the 11.5" ball I'm really not sure I want to try stuffing her inside a 7" one

It's in nearly new condition and my mind can't stop turning over all the possibilities inside that fantastic space!

I never did ask them where they got it because there was a strangely uncomfortable air about the family, like I'd just walked in on something, and I had to remind them why I was there...I just wanted to get the cage and leave! The daughter was friendly though
