Bamboo Root

Hi! I got a bamboo root for my Syrian hamster, how should I sanitise it? I don't think it'll fit in my oven so that option is out.
The website I purchased it says, "Please note this is raw untreated wood, Sanitisation is recommended before using. You can wipe the piece and leave under full sun for a day. As natural wood comes with holes and gaps, you may want to stuff them with moss/bedding to prevent any potential dangers."


Should I freeze it and then put it under the sun? Just want to be extra careful. And what should I wipe it down with?

Hamster-friendly ways to sanitize stuff could be using warm water, or disinfecting it with vinegar (then rinse it off) because vinegar is safe around hamsters in small amounts. Your hamster is pretty small so definately supervise them when they play with the bamboo so they don't get stuck or anything. I don't know a whole lot about bamboo but hopefully this helps, since nobody else was replying. Good luck with it!
