Question Cork teared up-what should I do?

Hello everyone! I’m going to cut to the point.Tonight I went to check on my Syrian hamster,Starnite. She has a wooden wheel in her cage that has been operating for over half a year now. Although, when I checked on it just now, I saw the cork(the piece of cork on the surface/runway of the wheel)had been teared up. Here’s a photo:

This is my first hamster that I used a wooden wheel so I don’t know how to deal with this situation. I figured out we might have to buy another one online but what can I possibly do now? Any advice would be appreciated

You can buy sheets of cork so maybe replace it? You could just use thick cardboard to line it temporarily?
