Default Cages with front opening

I want to bring up a theme that I have been thinking about and have seen it been a discusion about it at a site here in Norway.
Hamsters are animals who dont like hands from above from natures side, but people still use cages, make diy cages and detolf where the hand does comes from above. I know that one breeder here in norway dont sell animals to people who will use cages with a opening from above as she noticed that her animals reacted in a different way when she started to use cages with a front opening.

I have started to use cage with front opening myself, and have noticed that my dwarf in the terrarium does react in a different way when I use the front doors.

So, what do people think?

I personally like a front door opening cage both for myself and the pet.

I find it makes the bonding process easier and its easier for me as a disabled owner too as I can sit on the floor next to the cage and let them come out onto me.

Some won't be bothered by a top opening but its always my preference

I personally prefer top opening cage. My cages are diy. My hamster haven’t been spooked from hand coming from above but I never put my hand in directly above them. I let them come to me and they will climb into my hand to come out. Although I never put a young hamster straight into my diy they go into a temporary cage until they have tamed and used to being handled as a hand coming from above would be terrifying.

I find it’s a lot easier for me to interact with them and also easier to change bottles and do cage cleans without having to worry about my hamsters especially my females trying to push their way out of the cage which I always found a challenge of trying to keep them from escaping when I had a barred cage with a front door
