LF New Cage for syrian female chewer!
Hi all, I am going to take on my sisters female syrian in june, shes currently in the savic plaza but has chewed a hole in the base, iv'e ordered some screens to put up for extra bedding (she has cardboard but just chews it) but I'm going to need to get her a new cage
So iv'e looked at tank options and it seems SO difficult to get a suitable tank in the UK, the only company that seems to sell them is jungle pets & it will cost just under £300 inc delivery for 120x50x50 tank, iv'e also read reviews that they have had issues with the lid and the sealant on the glass
Iv'e also looked at options on amazon;
Eco habitat looks good but has some wood, how would i stop her gnawing at the base & wood corners? would i also need to mesh the lid? she's pedigree so bigger than normal syrians
Bucatstate metal cage is the other option I was looking at, but again, im worried she will chew at the holes in the side, how would I go about covering these up?
I'm useless at DIY so the ikea hacks aren't really an option as I would probably make it wrong and the hammie would eventually escape

Are you sure you cant consider DIY ikea cages? I am shocking at DIY and i promise you it was so easy to do. They’re so much cheaper than any other cage and my guy adores his! There are also multiple size options so you can choose what fits you best. Literally just used a few screws and siliconed the holes. I promise you it’d be harder to not mess it up! To stop gnawing at the corners i would just add extra blocks of wood around the place there’s chewing. Keep an eye out and when you clean the cage check all corners. If you keep on top of it you can catch them before a hole is made.
