Re: Lovely hamster castle
It's only 23cm tall so I think it's ok for a Robo, especially if you have soft bedding all round it. I think dwarfs are more resilient to falls than Syrians because they land more softly.
I would just make sure there are no tight spots where a head or leg could get trapped.

Re: Lovely hamster castle
It does look really lovely. Quite expensive though.

I imagine the price reflects that the wood is sustainable and ethically sourced.

Re: Lovely hamster castle
I saw those. Rodipet used to have something similar at one time (a bit smaller). The only thing that would concern me is if they could fall on it from above as those crenellations are pointy and uneven and could lead to a hard fall and an injury. I can see it would be good for out of a cage - but if in a cage it would need to be fairly high up (eg supported underneath) so there wasn't far to fall from the roof to the top of the castle.
Even then I'd probably stick little bits of hemp mat on the lower crenellations! Out of cage that wouldn't be an issue though.
It does seem quite large though - for a dwarf hamster. Not that it matters if it's large but it's certainly plenty large enough for a Syrian. It would half fill a 100 x 50cm cage! Doorways are wide too.

Re: Lovely hamster castle
Oh I'm sorry - don't worry - there will be a way round it! It depends where you plan on using it, but there will be a way round it.

Do not be sorry. I am glad I know. I emailed to ask if the order can be cancelled. Fingers crossed it can be.
