Cost of the living world eco habitat

Someone just commented on one of my living world eco habitat cage videos about they couldn't get the cage anymore. so i went to look, you can, but it's a whopping £233 on amazon uk... that's £100 more than what i paid for it 2 years ago, and I thought what I paid for it was a crazy price back then.

I had a quick look on amazon italy and amazon france page and they have it for 187 euros which is approx £164.

Even with brexit/taxes/customs why is it sooo much more.. crazy

I saw that it had gone up too. It came up as a recommendation to me on Amazon. It is very high and I wonder if anybody will buy it now.

I wanted to buy another one but can't possibly justify it at that price.

Also I thought I heard a while ago that it was discontinued so I'm surprised it's still for sale at all.

I am not from the UK, but the prices of everything have gone up here as well.
My rent is 200€ more than it was the last year, everything is more expensive at the stores, that includes pet stores and now due to Russian Ukrainian war prices will raise even more Hamsters are still around 4€ though.

The import fees to the Uk are huge - and not only that, hugely bureaucratic - which is why so many manufacturers are not shipping to the Uk any more - because they have to have all kind of licences and paperwork and import forms etc. They have to pay the export/import duties and they get passed on to us.

I know one German business told me this - that they would love to still supply their Uk customers but wasn't economically viable for them and on top of that the additional hoops to jump through would have meant their business couldn't function efficiently.
