Deep bedding screens for savic plaza
Hi, been a long time!
I just found these screens made for the savic plaza to allow for deep bedding & to reduce the height which is a bit of an issue if you want to keep dwarf hams in this cage. I have thought about buying a savic plaza & putting cardboard around the base but these would be a much better & more permanent solution although not cheap they might well be worth considering so I thought I would post the link here as it may be helpful.

Hello cypher! So lovely to see you back!
I've cut out those panels myself from a sheet of acrylic and attached them to a Plaza. They are a great idea and look so much better than cardboard and they don't get chewed up.

Re: Deep bedding screens for savic plaza
Hello Cypher I saw those recently too - they have a lot of good perspex solutions for cages. It's a great idea. I did do the cardboard round the inside for our robo - about 10" deep substrate and less height to the roof - but it didn't work for our syrian! He just shredded all the cardboard! Perspex would be much better.

Hi Ria & Serendipity 😊
I guess it would be easy enough to make your own Ria, but it’s a good option if DIY isn’t your thing, I feel a bit past it with DIY these days!
I had visions of chewed cardboard & substrate all over the floor too Serendipity which put me off a bit. I meant to mention that he does them for the mamble & alaska too but forgot.

It's a great service - I also balked at the idea of cutting perspex and getting it to fit! It also looks nicer than cardboard.
What hams do you have at the moment?

Re: Deep bedding screens for savic plaza
Good to know someone has tried them & they worked well Luna, I’m getting tempted to buy a plaza now!
Serendipity, I just have one now, my little Zak a very sweet little dom spot boy, he’s three & a half now so every day is extra special.
Sadly my other two both went to the bridge at beginning of the month within 5 days of each other, I’m still quite shocked tbh but glad to have my precious Zak still with me.

Re: Deep bedding screens for savic plaza
Three and a half is a grand age. So sorry about the two passing so close together - Zak must be even more special now. Are you looking for another hamster while thinking about the Plaza?
I have two now. I still prefer the Savic Mickey 2XL/HH for build quality but the 100 cm is a better size.
