Pink Neon - I'd go with the Grosvenor, the Plaza or an Alaska if you can find one.

I cancelled that when i decided to use the spare Hamster Heaven. Rodney likes the HH and now his Alaska is surplus.

Ah ok. That would be handy for Pink Neon if she's in your area!

The Grosvenor and Plaza are similar prices. Both have their pros and cons . Were you happy with the Alexander? Apart from the difficult shelves!

There's a second hand Barney cage for sale in London. Very similar to the Alexander but without the curved top and not quite as tall. If that's anywhere near you. It's wrongly described as a Savic cage (it's a Skyline cage). Looks like the shelf is missing though and you could spend another £20 on shelves!

Thanks. I'm in Sussex. I vaguely remember I didn't like that the Alexander was very heavy. When I was cleaning it I remember that it was heavy although I don't remember which part was heavy!

I think any 100cm cage when fully set up would be heavy to move . If you mean taking the bars off the top, I think the Plaza is lighter - and a fair bit of cleaning could be done through the front door. The Plaza top bars are not a solid welded metal top - it's a "knock down" cage so the panels come apart from the plastic side strips for storing it flat.

The Grosvenor, being deeper may be a bit more awkward in that respect - I remember my Barney cage was that deep and the extra depth made the top bars very difficult to lift off. But I managed!

I suggest at least a 40 gallon, but even that’s too small. Aquariums are much better than barred cages since hamsters can chew the bars which can damage their teeth, but with aquariums there are no bars to chew on. I’m sorry if this sounds rude, but if you can’t accommodate for a hamster, don’t get one. Again I’m sorry if that sounded rude, I didn’t intend it to be rude. Hamsters have a lot of requirements and are NOT cheap, beginner pets. They can cost up to 500$ total, or more. If you can’t afford that, it’s best not to get a hamster.
