It wasn't clever of me I copied it from a German hamster forum at the time. I had never done much diy before and it seemed a huge task but was actually quite easy.
I didn't want to keep relying on asking OH to saw things so got this little saw - which just does dowels (only just!).
I'm a dab hand with sandpaper now as well! And you need some of that to rub the rough edges after sawing them (or for any wood with rough bits) - only takes seconds. The 240 grade makes it incredibly smooth and literally takes seconds.

That would be a shame as I do prefer their stuff to Getzoo (who still seem to sell absolutely everything).

Did you look at their German site? When I ordered items I used that site as there was a lot to choose from.

These tips are so useful. Thank you.
I was originally going to glue on dowels and bought some. I then saw the option of stilts and thought they would be better. I can see dowels would have been better and cheaper.

Re: Curious about stilts
Just had a look. The only real difference I can see is - they do have the house legs on the German Rodipet site and they have a new range of labyrinth houses as well as the usual ones. They still don’t have the wood wheels any more.
I suspect then that they may go the same way as other German sites and stop shipping to the U.K. due to the expensive and lengthy import process now.
I wonder if you order from the German site if they would still ship to the U.K.

You can order from the German site. I ordered Orko's things from there. The issue was, one hide had a crack and they refused to reply to any emails about it. I am not sure if it was because I am in the UK or not. I can see what you mean about them ending up not shipping here. It is a shame because I love their cork logs.

Me too. Sorry to hear you had a damaged item. I’ve only needed to return something to them once and they weren’t too keen then either! I think usually their stuff is good quality and they’re not used to returns! Good to know you can still order from Germany though.

Re: Curious about stilts
Have to say though - my last cork log from them wasn’t as good quality and needed a lot of cleaning up.

I remember you saying that. It is sad not to have a good returns process as it makes it too hard to order in case something was to go wrong.
