Syrians use sand bath?

Does syrians use sandbath as dwarfs, or is it enough with toilet sand?

Some syrians will. Some won't. Best to try with a bigger sand bath and if they dont use it you can always go smaller. I dont know why but i found with 2 of my syrians, when they got older, they would avoid the sand bath

Out of our four male Syrians, three use the sand as a toilet and one uses a toilet and a separate sand bath. He doesn't roll in it like dwarfs do but sometimes sleeps in it, grooms in it and hides his treasures in it.

Hamsters are all so different and no two are the same.

I`m gonna pick him up tomorrow, but he have a little bowl with sand in he uses as toilet.

One of my past syrian hamsters, Gopal, used a rabbit corner litter tray as a sand bath. He looked so cute rolling in it. He had long brown fur and dark brown eyes. He was wonderful.

I've never seen a Syrian hamster roll in sand, only dwarfs. That must have been so amusing to watch.

Luna used to roll in sand, it was the first thing she did upon waking.
