Default Savic Plaza perspex!

Have a look at this. This company sells replacement perspex instead of the bars - so you could turn the plaza into a perspex tank - with a front opening door (for bar chewers).

Savic Plaza Complete Cage Screens - Viking Laser

They also make deep bedding screens for the Alaska (not full height) and for other cages

Plus perspex end panels and dividers for the detolf

what a genius idea and what a great find Serendipity, for those that already have those cages and end up with an incessant bar bitter, and if you aren't good or don't have the tools for diy cages. cheaper and lighter than buying tanks

Would the front panel with the door fit the top of the Plaza?
If it does, one could add a top door and leave the rest as it is with bars. I'm going to contact them to find out.

Thank you for that Serendipity!

They don't do a top panel with a door for the Plaza (why not?) but they responded quickly.

I'm wondering if i could diy one with a door using perspex since i have the tools, hmm....

Yes, it soon adds up.
I must price the perspex panels from Ikea people use for their Linmons.

I found it by accident when googling something about cages and looking at images. It's not a cheap option! About £86 to replace all the panels (except the lid) with perspex - which is more than the cost of another new cage. But. As you say Luna - a heck of a lot easier than diy or the cost of a tank!

Ria I think maybe they don't do a top panel because the idea is the perspex makes the cage secure (solid sided with no bars to escape through or chew) and there still needs to be ventilation at the top, as with a tank.

But it's the only option I can think of for a 100cm "tank" with a front opening door. And the cost of the Plaza cage plus the perspex panels, is still quite a bit cheaper than an Exo Terra with a front opening door (which isn't as big).

I think the main thing about it is you don't have to work out all the measurements for getting perspex cut to size or diy to make it fit etc. Even the deep bedding perpex options come with fixings! What always put me off using perspex for deeper bedding was having to glue it to the bars and what to use.

That would have been a great idea! Just adding a top door to the barred cage. Although maybe the perspex would be a bit heavy for the top - with it being a knockdown cage. You could add a door though - if you have a spare door and are prepared to cut the cage! I've thought about that before with some cages. Never got to that stage though. I don't have the right equipment (and might mess it up) - I seem to remember someone saying a dremel was good for those kind of jobs.

It's a better option than a maxi duna multy isn't it? Although quite a bit more expensive for the cage plus the perspex panels. But taller too and with a front opening door. And cheaper than a glass tank (which doesn't have a front opening door).

I'm almost tempted - except I don't need to replace the bars ha ha.
