Default Is Cosyflock Bio-Tiereinstreu organic bedding safe?

I saw this new brand of hamster bedding Cosyflock Bio-Tiereinstreu organic bedding at my local pet store I saw it was made in Germany but it didn't specify what type of wood so I was wondering if anyone knew and if this bedding was safe to use?

Hello Shina, I just looked this up and saw it is made from softwood chips. I know aspen is fine for hamsters but this does not say which wood it is. I would be wary of buying it. Do you have access to any paper based bedding?

I do for Living World's Fresh n Comfy didn't get this since it was quite not worth the price and Chipsi's carefresh did get this though in 10L
I've been stuck with these 2 for a while now but Malaysia's quite warm (ranges between 30 to 32 degree Celsius) so I was wondering would they overheat in these stuff? The rest I saw were just cotton paper, cotton balls, chipsi's wood bedding, then we have Living World's small wood chips thing and some unknown wood produced beddings.

I only have access to Living World's fresh n comfy as well as Chipsi's carefresh, I've been mixin gthem with wood bedding to prevent overheating of my hamsters, since it's quite warm at where I live.

I just looked the Living World one up. It contains baking soda which is not really ideal. The Chipsi carefresh looks like it is just paper. I would use the Chipsi unless any of the forums members suggest otherwise.

I can understand it is difficult when it is hot. You can use a cooling tile and also put any creamic hides in the fridge and then put them in your hamster's cage to help them keep cool. I would not use the wood bedding.

So no bio-tiereinstreu, are aspen shavings safe then? Those Emily Pets kind. I've put some ice packs beneath Peach's ceramic hideout for now, he seems to like it. Worry not it's sealed off in another compartment like tiles, so no chance for bacteria to grow underneath.

.

You can use aspen shavings but they are not as good as holding up burrows as paper. Could you get the chipsi carefresh ones?

I did, the same time I got the bio thing, welp I guess that will be fertiliser for my plants outside now... , now I remembered why I didn't get the living world type, primarily because of the baking soda and over pricing, Chipsi was more affordable and I researched online since no one complained about it, I saw Kaytee brand of snack the other day I thought they would have the bedding too but no luck on my side... ):

Oh that is a shame. It can be really hard to find suitable hamster things. Have you checked Amazon? I am not sure if they deliver to Malaysia.
