Safe bathing sand uk?
Hiya, I've been trying to find a safe hamster sand in the uk and the main brands seem to be super dusty these days. I've seen reptile sand suggested etc but any suggestions for a dust free (as far as is poss) sand that I can get online here in England would be super helpful. Thanks!😄

Re: Safe bathing sand uk?
I tried Komodo sand which some people like, but I found it left a film of dust, even after washing and drying for hours.
I've found the Exo TTerra sand to be relatively dust free - still very fine but not dusty. Here is the one I used now.

I've always used the Tiny Friends Farm sand and have never had any issues.

Thank you. I'd looked at that one and was a bit concerned about some of the reviews saying that it was really dusty ! It's so confusing and I don't want to get something unsafe and make my hamster sick..... thankyou anyways, I'll look at that one again!

There is a lot of conflicting information about hamster products so i rely on my own judgement and common sense.

Honestly any children's play sand works just as good and is a cheap safe alternative thats widely available I've used just regular children's play sand for years and its never been a problem for me!

Do you have any sources for this please? My hamster has this sand and it makes him sneeze, so like you I am looking for safe alternatives, but as you say it seems to be rather a minefield!

I can't remember where I read it originally but this video I found on YouTube kind of sums up the major points, though it is a few years old so I don't know what it is like now, as you say an absolute minefield!
