Ok. So the last two items on the first post are NOT recommended! The Petsgang shelves an the small corner shelves from Amazon. Both badly made - the latter with dubious construction (people complaining of them snapping when a pet just sits on them as not a solid piece of wood) and doesn’t state what type of wood.

So anything after the photo of the coloured bendy bridges on page one - please ignore!

Any moderator reading would be grateful if you could edit that first post accordingly - ie delete anything after the photo of the coloured bendy bridges.

I think they cut it freehand and didn't have the right machinery for the job. (their customer service was rubbish)
However, I will say I know a few other people that have bought items from there and seem happy, but not one I would recommend or use again. They also use nails, which I am trying to get away from.
I'm quite saddened to hear this if it's the same company on IG. They have been very quick to reply, polite and have even been asking my advice on rat items. They are English second language but their products always looked very sturdy. Have you tried raising the issues with them over IG DM as they have seemed very open to learning and adapting with my suggestions

I've used both the smaller and larger trixie corner shelves and find them quite sturdy. They've been washed a fair bit, spray plastikoted on base. Have held freesanding wheels and ceramic hides.

I currently use filled with coconut husk.

I've also made my own by getting regular wooden shelves, plastikote and drilling hole in to wind the metal rne and wing nuts.

In my experience, hams maybe nibble the odd edge then leave alone, some of my shelves are over 10yr old!

That's good to know the wood Trixie shelves are sturdy and long lasting! I agree about making your own. After buying my large shelf (first on on first post) I said to OH - this is just a piece of wood! We could make them and just drill holes and use screws. (If we had time). It was handy being able to buy one cut to the right size to fit the Savic Plaza though. Not everyone has a saw to hand and I'm the first to admit I couldn't saw a shelf effectively! (I do the corners and the little bits but not the big bits).

Good find Cloudy. They look good for tanks. Might be difficult to fit a barred cage. I wonder if they would do a custom shelf - eg the platform without the legs and with screw fixings for bars.

They make custom things so you could always request a different size or shape.
