I think you can buy bulk quantities on ebay. Good luck.

I know in the US we have them in pretty much any typical grocery store, so maybe check there first if you want a smaller quantity instead of bulk. I'm not sure what the UK would have in terms of restaurant supply store type websites that would sell to the general public, but that is another option to consider especially for bulk quantities of things like this!

Ahhh glad ria said where her mushroom was from, i knew i had seen some pet safe ones, just couldn't remember where, thanks ria.

i made some decorative toadstools/mushrooms for comets autumnal themed cage out of papier machie.
Cardboard Mache Decorations For My Hamster Cage - YouTube I was surprised at how he attacked them as he normally ignores toilet roll boredom breakers quite a bit, but when made into shapes obviously he attacked them!!!!

I would love to get some wooden ones too, I want to do a mushroom/toadstool themed cage at some point. I already have a smurf house hide which i made.

I know people use brown paper bags in the guinea pig world to put the hay in

I love how creative you are. The mushroom theme cage sounds adorable. Yes, my piggies liked finding hay in paper bags. It was so cute.

I'd like some mushrooms too! Will check out the pets at home ones! Yes hamsters will ignore things you give them to chew (unless it has food stuck to it or tastes nice like Whimzees) and will chew anything completely unsuitable (like plastic wheels and things for decoration). They can be very contrary! They will also pouch anything completely unsuitable while free roaming (lego, marbles, bits of silver paper) - hence a hoover up needed first! They really are hoarders - why on earth would a hamster need a marble? Can't eat it, can't make a nest with it?

Haha, that is good to know. I will make sure to be careful.

Where do you put the mushrooms - if that's not a silly question? They look like they would fall over!

They are pretty useless really. I glued one on a corner shelf before to discourage a hamster from jumping off. Not that a mushroom stopped Clarissa.

In the tank i shove one down the substrate at the front and tonight i spotted a small space in Scottie's new set up so jammed one in there.
