As far as I know any tree shavings that is from leafed trees are safe, anything from needled trees like pine shavings are harmfull. But if I where you I would look into paper bedding such as carefresh or über instead of wooden shavings. Wooden Shavings can be very dusty and cause respitory issues aswell as it doesnt hold tunnels that well. Paper bedsing is usually not very dusty, holds tunnels well and are more cosy

As far as i know the only wood classed as safe is spruce. Allspan, which is widely used in Germany is made from 100% spruce.

I think you'd need to find out what the wood shavings pictured are made of.

I agree with Axeriax. If you are in USA then Kaytee bedding is a great option. With paper bedding you will not need to worry about any allergic reactions too.

Could you read the description to check if it is Aspen? That is the only safe wood shaving I know of.

Imo, That looks really finely cut, I think it would be to dusty. Can you get paper bedding? It is really the best option available.
If you go with wood you will have to make sure to read the back of the package to see what type of tree it is made of, look for an ingredients list. And you need to make sure there is minimal wood dust.

I tried looking up this brand and you are right. They do not say which wood they use. I would not use it because them not listing the wood is concerning. It sounds like it is difficult to buy paper bedding were you live. I wonder if you could put, aspen bedding, hemp bedding or paper bedding in a search engine and see what comes up? Maybe there are companies who will ship to you.
