Default Is this cage suitable?

I would like all your opinions on this cage for a hamster. I was thinking of getting the 150cm cage. It looks quite shallow coming up at 38cm high but my partner said he can make it higher by adding wood. Should I get this cage?

I know someone on Instagram that just got one of these cages and she said it is too shallow for her liking, she can only just fit the wheel in with a little bit of bedding under it.
I am currently using a Marrakesh cage which I think is about the same height and I find it too shallow as well, especially for a syrian. (I will be building an IKEA Komplement cage in the future) I think it depends on what you plan on putting in it and which species of hamster you have.

Thank you very much for your opinion. I also thought it is too shallow but my partner said he could add wood to make it higher. I cannot find any suitable cage anywhere. Would this idea work?

I am sure it would work, but I guess it depends on how much you want to spend and if your partner can make it higher, would they be able to make an ikea cage such as the platsa/Komplement/Limnon which would work out at a fraction on the cost, just an idea. Mind you non of them are as big as the one you are looking at, there is the pax range from ikea which you can get in bigger sizes

I read MDF was dangerous which is why I was concerned about the IKEA things. I think it would be okay to have a slightly smaller cage but no smaller then 120cm. I really appreciate your help.

It wouldn't be too difficult to make it higher and then it would work.
Do you not like the Pawhut cages? They are higher.

MDF issues are those made in the states I think, they have different standards to the UK/Europe
Even having said that, the way most of the cages are built the majority of hamsters shouldn't be able to chew them

Thank you. My partner is going to make a cage rather then me get the one I originally listed. I appreciate your opinion.
