Default Has anyone tried this nesting material?

I work in different towns and like to sniff around small, independent pet shops.

I came across this tube with thin strips of paper which could be fun for Rodney.

Big question is: is it safe, has anybody used it before?

Looks interesting. Is it wood wool? Otherwise known as thin stringy aspen. Or paper? If it's paper, as long as the edges aren't sharp (paper cuts) it should be ok. Wood wool is ok too - it's aspen basically.

It's paper. Never heard of wood wool but must look it up. Thanks

I don't think anyone really uses it but it did come up at one point on here.

I was given a load of supplies that included something similar to that recently. I think it's safe because it's very soft paper that won't cause paper cuts. For shredding and chewing it might be fun for some hamsters. Some hamsters might get slightly tangled up in it, especially sick or less mobile ones, and long-haired ones, I would imagine.
