Re: Amazon essentials cage
The Hamster Heaven is cheapest on Zooplus . Here - £61. However I think you can get the Hamster Sky cage for that price too - from Amazon or pets at home. The cage is identical - better in a way as the only difference is it comes with less plastic stuff which is pretty useless anyway! It’s better to not use all the tubes and plastic penthouse and shelves etc abd just start with an empty cage. One of the shelves is ok and that then leaves room for a 28cm wheel abd a good sized house plus a few other toys etc.

Savic Sky £64.00 at Pets at Home

Another good option for a Syrian is the Savic Plaza which is 100 cm. but it’s more expensive at £76

Re: Amazon essentials cage
Thank you, I’m going to keep that in mind and I had seen it before, but I had forgotten about it to be honest 😂
I’m conflicted now as well as someone has put a new one on Facebook, no tubes, one level, bars which I prefer over plastic, and it’s purple so my partners favourite colour. It’s only £10 and up the road, the only issue is she’s measured it and it’s basically 70 x 50cm.
10cm short, but I’m thinking I might just do it, for the price the appearance and the layout it’s perfect.
Would it be cruel if I did this?

This one may be the petsathome xl which i have had myself and really disliked it.
It's okish for a dwarf but too small for a Syrian.
If it is that cage which comes in purple, grey or turquoise then it is a very impractical cage with very small doors. Every time you want to interact with the hamster or do some spot cleaning you need to lift the wire top off.
Our Syrians are in Alaskas and the dwarfs and Robo in Hamster Heavens. Both have big front doors and i could never go back to cages with small doors.

Re: Amazon essentials cage
Yeah, when I saw it I thought it looked like a pets at home one but I couldn’t find it on there.
Thank you for that, one thing I do want this time is easy access so having small doors would definitely annoy me.
It’s annoying as one that was the right size a guy was meant to sell to me today then told me he’d already sold it! 😡
Patience is the greatest virtue so for now I’ll keep looking out or see if there are deals anywhere. I’m thinking £50 is my maximum but I would stretch to £60 from zoo plus or pets at home if I have no luck soon.

Ironically, the same cage arrived undamaged with minimal packaging from Amazon! Not here but at Duncan's new family. I meshed the lid hence saw the box it came in.
