Default Cork logs....support/stilts needed??

Hi there,

I am in process of upgrading from a 40 gallon breeder tank to a 75 gallon tank. I am planning on ordering a cork log, but had a question. Is it safe to use these on top of deep bedding or is it a risk for trapping/squishing hamster. I see some videos where people seem to place these on top of platforms or use some sort of support and some where it just seems to be on top of or partly buried into bedding. Just want to see what people's experience/recommendations with using cork log is. Just want to keep my hamster safe.

Thanks for any input!

Cork logs are fine They are very light - no need for support.

Thanks for the response. I hadn't held one, can only get online where I live, but some of the listed weights had me concerned, if they were to burrow underneath. Hopefully what I receive will be fine.

Just to update, I finally received my log and despite the stated weight, and its large size, it is indeed very lightweight so no concerns!
