Default Cork logs....support/stilts needed??

Hi there,

I am in process of upgrading from a 40 gallon breeder tank to a 75 gallon tank. I am planning on ordering a cork log, but had a question. Is it safe to use these on top of deep bedding or is it a risk for trapping/squishing hamster. I see some videos where people seem to place these on top of platforms or use some sort of support and some where it just seems to be on top of or partly buried into bedding. Just want to see what people's experience/recommendations with using cork log is. Just want to keep my hamster safe.

Thanks for any input!
