Default Change on cage without stress

I have written about my syrian boy who is scared/insecure. After I moved him in to savic hamster heaven, he seems to feel a little more safe. I dont want to anything to make him upset or scared, and have been thinking on how I can change his bottom litter without do it on a stressful way for him.
So I thougt I could buy a hamster heaven and similar house ect as he do have in his cage now, and make the cage look identical, and just put some off his old litter and some new litter in it, and wash the cage he were in, and just switch on which cage he uses, without big changes.
Does that sound as a good idea?

Yes, that works and i've done it before myself with two identical bases.
I prefer to only change a third of the substrate at a time then another section another time etc.
