Re: UK Hamster Cages 2021
Good find Serendipty. I think it might be the same as the Ritz but different things inside.

Also Zooplus in Germany are selling a 120cm version of the Marrakesch. But they won't ship to the Uk. Annoying as there are a lot more options on the German Zooplus and they used to ship to the Uk - I guess that is Brexit.

When I had guinea pigs, I bought all my supplies from zooplus. They were amazing. It is such a shame they do not have very much for the UK now.

I like these - they are space saving and work as well as a labyrinth house with nest at one end and toilet at the other end.
The downsides are it only has small doors (but ok for a tame syrian perhaps) and cost is £90 odd. However I really like those built in houses. My travel cage, the Skyline Ted, has one and it has been used and enjoyed by all our hamsters.
Although it's at floor level I just put a bit of substrate inside it and pile it up outside the house leaving a gap for the door.

It's cheaper on ebay (link below) £70. Also see a link to their Facebook. I did look up Scallwags website but they didn't show the cage on their website.

Yes I just looked up the Ritz (wasn't aware of that one). It looks very similar. The Ritz has silver bars instead of black and yes the contents in the Volta are much better. Possibly! Although the ritz does come with a shelf (if you already have a good house).

Re: UK Hamster Cages 2021
According to Little Pet Warehouse, the Ritz/Volta has 6.5mm bar spacing - that is quite a find! A 100 cm cage x 54cm cage with narrow bar spacing. And a fairly low height. The only equivalent used to be the Barney - but that had a big door on top and two small doors (although one small door isn't much different to two and if lower it's easier to take the top off possibly).
Could be a good large cage for a dwarf hamster - although maybe some access issues.
I do wish someone would ban 13.5 cm wheels though

Nice find. I do find those doors annoying though. My robo's cage has them but the big door on top makes up for that.

Re: UK Hamster Cages 2021
You have the elmo don't you flower fairy? Yes that would be a much better cage - but it seems none of those cages from Germany can be bought in the Uk now. No Skyline ones, no borneo's or Elmo's. Thank goodness for Savic - who have always had a strong presence in the Uk market (even though an Belgian company).
I don't understand why German cages aren't shipping to the Uk now. Maybe some companies have gone under, maybe it's legislation.
