Default Help with cages

Hi all! My hamster has become a chewer of bars, and even chews his plastic base. It’s probably a habit - he has loads to do, plenty to chew, and comes outside of his cage now.
Is there any cheap affordable non wired cage alternative?
Or any way I could prevent him from chewing the plastic?
Thank you all

Zoozone2 works well and costs about £60, also a Ferplast Maxi Duna (2nd hand as they’ve been discontinued)

Hello!

A bin cage works very well. You can get really large ones for really cheap. Take a look on youtube as there are some really good tutorials on there on how to make them hamster friendly.

How big is your hamster cage? It may be a case of cage rage. And also do you have a wheel that he can run on? If so how big is it and what sort of wheel is it? (plastic, wired etc?)

Hope this helps

If you can't find out why he chews and have ruled everything else out, i.e. big enough cage and wheel etc then the only option would be a large second hand aquarium or a detolf with a DIY meshed lid because he'd chew through a Zoozone 2 or bin cage as well.

Have you tried covering bars with cardboard or boredom breaker mats and put down something like a house to obstract the area where he chews on the plastic base?
