Alexander cage
Yes, I did finally get my hands on second hand cage, the alexander cage from zooplus. My syrian girl will move in to the cage. Any ideas for cage setup?

Re: Alexander cage
Great! It’s a lovely cage. Did it come with the shelves and houses? There is a long built in house with that cage that works very well for them and you can fit a litter tray in it - best place is at the far end where the large door is. It is quite a tall cage so does need the shelves which form a kind of racetrack. So if the shelves aren’t with it I would get some shelving for it. A Syrian sized wheel fits centre back so a shelf at each end either side of that would work. One shelf would work too if you have plenty of substrate at the end without a shelf (some people put the wheel at one end instead). And nothing hard to land in in that area in case they climb to the roof.
I would spend some time setting it up before moving the hamster in so you don’t have to keep upheaving them when they are settling in.
