Personally I would want reassurances that the detolf was in a separate room that the dog and cat were never allowed in. I have heard of lids being broken when cats have jumped and sat on them, so it really depends on how strong the lid is - I just wouldn't risk it.

I adopted my syrian Twinkle because he was given up because apparently he scared the dog! The dog scared him more like!

All that allowing cats and dogs into a room with hamsters is good for is causing unnecessary stress. They cannot and should not be allowed to be in the same room and quite frankly "getting used to each other" is a ridiculous excuse when it does absolutely nothing good for the hamster but cause stress - it also really isn't fair to the cats or dog to tempt them with prey like that if I'm being honest. That stress can lead to illness for example!

I would honestly be looking for a different potential owner if this one isn't willing to guarantee that their predatory pets will absolutely not under any circumstances ever be allowed in the same room. That is ultimately what's best for the hamster.

Her argument is that the cage is made of glas, that she will get used of the animals over time and she will do all at the hamsters premises..

I've been in this situation once where someone wanted to adopt a hamster from me. After asking a few questions i found out that the family also had dogs and cats so i turned them down and said no.

Unless i am a 100% sure that the people who want to adopt are suitable, i won't let a hamster go.

You can't be 100% sure or you wouldn't be asking peoples opinions here.
