Wheel
I`m looking for a wheel for my syrian girl. Most of the wheels are made of wood and one I want to buy is plastic. It is a orbital wheel from savic, it is 27 cm. Is it okay to use?

Re: Wheel
The Silent Runner in the 12 inch size would be a better choice as it would suit any Syrian and is a much better size for Syrians in general - it also stays silent, is incredibly durable, and is a great long term investment.

Re: Wheel
It's ok, but might not be quite big enough for some syrians, I used mine for a very small syrian and she was fine.
Do bear in mind it has a spoke/spindle thing that goes right through the middle, so not ideal for long haired hamsters.
This is a video I did on it

Re: Wheel
It should be fine but might be noisy. Can you get the trixie plastic 28cm one in Norway?

I would recommend the trixie plastic one over the oribital, the only reason i got the orbital was because it was wider than most wheels and my hamster had bad arthritis which made her back legs splay out and so she needed a wider wheel than the trixie.
Serendipity is right, the orbital was noisy, but as you can see in the video I fixed that with a bit of oil.

Yes, the trixy wheel is available here in norway. The only thing with that wheel is that the plstic have a tendensy to rub against the metal after sometime.
This is the wheels I`ve been looking at:

Re: Wheel
I think it depends on whether you want a wheel that has an enclosed front or not, it comes down to personal choice I guess.
