Default Salt smell in aquarium

Does anyone know how to get rid of a salt smell in an aquarium to be used as a hamster home?

The aquarium has been thouroughly cleaned but the salt smell remained. Not sure if the sealant contains it or the glass itself or both.

I just wonder if there's anything that neutralizes salt and the other important question of course is whether it would be harmful or stressful to a hamster.

Any feedback would be helpful and thank you in advance.

I’m really not sure but the only thing I can think of to try is bicarb which is really good at absorbing smells & traces of anything that might be left on there, maybe try giving the whole inside a rub down with some then leave some in there for a day or two & cover it over so the bicarb can get to work, just rinse it well after.
