Is this safe?

I bought this item for my Syrian's cage but now that it's arrived, I'm unsure if it's safe.

I'm unsure about the screws. Would these be harmful in anyway? It's arrived in pieces, I have to construct it myself.

What do you guys think? I may return it if you think it's unsafe.

I'd say that this would be safe in a hamster's cage, but if your hamster is chewing on the screws, and your worried about that, then you may want to take a small amount of non-toxic glue, and just glue some plain cardboard over the top of the platforms.

Gosh - I liked this so much I've put it in my basket at Amazon for my dwarf ham. I just need to check the dimensions again to make sure it will be okay for a dwarf. Yes, I would say it would be safe, too. If your Syrian gets a fixation about trying to chew the screws, then Nibbles suggestion should work well.
