I was thinking about building an enclosure with the dimensions: 36in length, 20in width, and 20in depth- giving it a total floorspace of 720in. Is this too small for a Syrian? And if it is, is it still too small for a Dwarf?
Agree. Nice size. I tend to think in dimensions rather than square inches as the depth is important to the floor area - 20” depth (50cm) is about a minimum really for a hamster. So 90 x 50 or 80 x 60 (36” x 20” or 32” 24”) is a good floor area. But 4 foot by 1 foot isn’t - not deep enough even though the square inches add up.
