Smile Hamster toy

Is a baby teether good for a hamster? I can't find any hamster toy. So is it a good idea to give her a baby teether instead, something soft and chewable? Thank you

it depends what the baby teether is made out of?
If its made of plastic then it should not be given for a chewing toy. hamsters will much prefer something wooden to chew on. Like a washed branch or special wooden chews for small animals.

Some baby teethers have a liquid to cool a babies gums - I would stay away from these as if your hamster injests this it could be harmful. Natural wood is great for them to chew on, if it comes from outside in your garden either wash with boiling water or bake in the oven to kill off any germs.

Also, I forgot to say that cardboard tubes out of toilet roll or kitchen roll are good toys as they can hide in them and chew on them. Any small cardboard boxes are slao good

I wouldn't risk a baby teether. Hammies like a nice hard dog biscuit to chew

Thank you for your suggestions! She enjoys cardboard, and now she's not chewing on cage.

Really it sounds dangerous, they actually dont need SOFT to chew on, but hard stuff, and not plastic but wooden. Buy maybe one of those hamster mineral stones or some wooden branches from the local pet shop. Good luck

No cardboard is fine to chew on - lots of hamster owners give the carboard tube inner from toilet rolls or kitchen paper to their hams and its fine, I have done so in the past myself and know many others who do.

You could try some wood as Katty suggests, for something a bit harder. But as for mineral stones all the hams I know ignore them!
