Question Is Birch Wood safe?

Ever since I watched Victoria Raechel's video about Niteangel I've been looking to get one of their multi-chamber hamster house mazes. Then I found out that there made of Birchwood. Me being an overly cautious hamster mom with the knowledge of Pine and Cedar being deadly I looked into. One thread on Hamster Central says it's safe but another says it's not. Hamster Hideout and other forums also have contradicting information. Does anyone have anything that can help? I trust Victoria but I'm not about to do it blindly.

Birch is fine, Rodipet houses are made of birch & I think Getzoo too, I use birch for shelves with no problems.
