Wire mesh
Hi all,
I need to buy some wire mesh and I would have liked to get it from wilkos as that seems to be the perfect size, but it is currently out of stock.
https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-ca...-15m/p/0182229
I have looked online and I can't seem to find anything that is this size and around the same price- some places are ridiculously expensive
Does anyone else have any ideas where to look, ideally so that I can buy online (as housebound) but may be able to ask someone to pick me some up if I could track some down.
Thanks.

Re: Wire mesh
Thanks Ria, I just looked on there and none of it can be ordered for delivery and also looks like smallest mesh they have online is 1.3cm holes, was hoping to get 0.6cm holes
also doesn't look like they do sheets online,
I will wait a few days and see if Wilkos one comes available again, I also found oneo on amazon which is currently out of stock but would be £5.99. I did find some, but would work out at £15+
so how many bin cages you going to make

enough to justify buying the mesh in rolls.....and i'm working my way through all those colourful duck tapes.
If you can get to a B&Q they stock the 0.6cm mesh, that's the one i prefer too. I just finished a roll of the smaller mesh which was fiddly to work with but it was leftover from a commisioned bin cage so didn't want to waste it. It served a mouse.

I’m also looking for some wire to update a new cage project. How big are the holes on the wiko one, I couldn’t find the information anywhere. I have a Russian dwarf, would she be able to get out through this?

Re: Wire mesh
Bella_Bex I got confussed, the wilko one is 13mm holes, I am looking for 6mm one which I think is more prefrable for dwarfs.
I found this one on amazon which is 6mm, but waiting for it to come back in at £5.99

Also it is quite a long roll and I am not sure that I would ever use it again once I have used the bit I need.
Thanks for trying to help me.

Re: Wire mesh
I think 1cm mesh is fine for all hamsters and the usual size used. The 6mm is mouse mesh. Stops mice getting in. It's good that it's small mesh but it can be quite stiff and difficult to work with I believe.
