Default Glass vivarium suitable?

Hello all!

I'm hoping to soon become the owner of one or two little Robos, as I accidentally fell in love with the little fellows on a pet shop trip!

They're definitely the guys for me, I just want to get a home set up before I get the hamsters. On that note, do you think a vivarium tank like this would be suitable?:

Can't seem to find anyone else that uses one of these, but it seems ideal for the setup I'd have, allowing easy front access and better ventilation than the straightforward fish tank type.

Not sure why I don't like the plastic ones, just find them a bit garish and unnatural!

Anyone see any problems?

Thanks in advance!
Andy

We use a glass small animal cage for one Chinese and it is fine. Looks a bit like your one. I would say you need something a little bigger for two though. Have a look at Tammy's website for robo info:
Oak Farm Rabbits and Rodents

Here is out tank though it does not have the vines now as he nibbled them!

yh a vivarium looks great although it could be a bit bigger then the one pictured. maybe more than one level would be better
Glad you've fallen in love with robos, they are a joy to have!
I like your username aswell

Hi and Welcome, I can't see any problems with using a vivarium as long as it is big enough for the number of robos you are getting and that is well ventillated. It should be failry easy to clean out too which is a bonus!

Souffle....what is the water bottle? It looks like an inverted test-tube (maybe its the scientist in me?)

Thanks guys, glad it seems ok because I've ordered it now! I've found loads of great info here and on Tammys site- in fact I was hoping to get the Robos from Tammy as she's local, no reply yet though.

Anyone have good experiences of hammys from pets at home, or would you avoid them?

Amey Janey - I think I may have just found the test tube water bottle on ebay - it looks the same a Souffles one - here is the link :

Yes it is a test tube type but we have stopped using it because the stopper is a rubber bung and it was making the water taste strongly of rubber. Not good!
We now use a mouse bottle attached with self adhesive velcro in that tank.

McPenguin I would wait for reply from Tammy as I know she has several litters and they are fabulously tame and already bonded when you get them.
I 'think' she is at a show abroad at the moment maybe. It will be worth the wait and I would say best do that then go for pet shop robos.
