Default Emily Pets sand, is it safe?

Hi guys! I've only been able to find this sand bath for hamsters (besides children's play sand which I'm currently using), I wanna know your opinions about it because I know a lot of people who use it and I just fell like it isn't safe. It looks super fine so even though it says it is a sand I think it's more of a dust and also it comes with a scent and flavor (idk why).

I'll link the page or you guys can search it up as "Emily Pets hamster bathing sand" since I couldn't upload a picture

Please let me know what you think!

I wouldn't use that sand. It's scented, and whatever oils or substances they use to add the scent may not be safe. Flavoured sand sounds a bit weird. Some hamsters will eat small amounts of sand but it's probably not a good idea to encourage it with flavours.

Just stick to play sand, that's known to be safe as long as you're properly preparing it(rinsing, sifting, and baking - all three steps being completely necessary for safety).

This product would definitely not be safe. Anything scented is a very bad idea for hamsters as they have delicate respiratory systems and could easily be harmed by such a product.

If it is truly flavored it becomes even more dangerous as sushi_78 has mentioned. Flavored non-food objects are certainly problematic(another example being Snak Shacks and similar products which claim to be edible but are most definitely not edible).
