Default Cambridge Cage - Shelves

I have a cambridge cage. I love this cage and think it is a fantastic size and shape. I do get really annoyed with the shelves though. I don't like the big gap that there is between the two shelves - especially when a hamster is having a climb. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can reduce the gap - make it narrower so that a climbing hamster can't fall and hurt itself. Ideally i suppose i would like the shelves to be full lenght shelves with holes in the floor to allow a hamster to get between the levels safely. Still with the space to climb. Not sure how it could be achieved.

Any thoughts?

I'm not very creative but you could put some hammock-type toys to bridge the 2 levels maybe? I have thought about this before but luckily Sir Alan always uses his ladder. He fell from the top once when he was little and it seems that was enough to scare him into not doing it again. I don't put anything at the top apart from his food bowl, otherwise he'll push it off and go down with it Now he just goes to the edge of the shelf and looks over!

I hope someone comes up with some good suggestions for you....

The hammock is a good idea - where do you get these from though? Alternatively i was thinking of something plastic that could be suspended or something similiar. Thanks for your thoughts. Will have a look for hammocks

I've got a couple of ladies whom I've ordered loads of stuff from for our many guinea pigs. Their things are usually with you in 3 days and they are fabulous. And the ladies themselves are lovely. Prices are amazing.
Check out their websites: Cavy Couture - Handmade Accessories For All Exotic Pets and Cosy Cavies
I have a hammock, lap blanket, hedgie bag amongst other things from Amy at Cavy Couture and have several of the cuddle sacs, lap blanket, snuggle-oos from Helen at Cosy Cavies. They're fab!
I've also ordered a couple of cuddle sacs from Welcome to Chucklebunnies!, including a small house for my daughter's hamster and they're gorgeous too.
They all do hamster sized stuff too. Have a look - can't recommend them highly enough!

I found Netpet quite nice, i bought mine in a local petshop, but i've ordered carefresh and dog food in the past.
The only problem i had was that i ordered to find them sending me my order missing the cage i'd ordered as it was out of stock.
But i'm actually greatful as it caused me to look on Ebay and i got something so much better

I thought I'd have a quick browse on ebay (i've never thought of looking there for pet stuff) and found NetPet have a shop on there, so I bought the hammock that way instead of registering for yet another website and having yet another password to remember!

I can't wait till it comes!

don't start about passwords! My mum has loads, but she can't remember any of them
So we're probably registered like 5 times for some things
Do you mind telling me what the net pet ebay shop is called? Or how to find ?
