Hi everyone, I was wondering if you all would comment on some playroom ideas that you like or use for your hams? I use large clear bins and an under bed type fabric covered clothes container. But I'm always looking for other ideas I recently purchased a popup polyester playpen for him with high sides that I think is safe but when it arrived I just felt it was too large for him / dwarf hammy - he doesn't like too much space and is getting to be an older guy. Where do you play with your hamsters?
Also..I had to find the link but does anyone like this idea? I was thinking of this for my guy

Ugh sorry here is the direct link I hope!

Re: Playroom Ideas?
Tubes, tubes and more tubes, the longer the better. Our dwarf couldn't get enough of them. Balance one over another cross-wise, and you have a ready-made seesaw. It's really the only things that interested her in a playpen, and if she didn't have any she would be trying to scale the railings. When my new hamster arrives I'm going to try a maze.
The idea in your link sounded perfect as your ham is getting a bit older.

Re: Playroom Ideas?
I liked the look of the one in the video
I use this for my hamster
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrDyW44pcv8&t=2s
It doesn't look anything like that at the moment, full of bedding and toys/tunnels and a wheel.
i also section off a bit at the end of my bedroom with cardboard

Re: Playroom Ideas?
If a play pen seems too big then a large cardboard box like the one in the video would be fine, I would put some substrate in as well as toys though. Mine all tend to like different things so you just have to experiment a bit really & try a few different set ups until you find what they enjoy.
The advantage of a larger play pen is that you can sit in with them if they enjoy climbing on you!

Re: Playroom Ideas?
Ok thank you all very much! I will definitely try those ideas and also go with the cardboard with some of his bedding in it. Thank you for adding that too because I wasn't all too comfortable with putting his toys in an empty box..worried about slipping / falling.
